Brief experience in Japan: I studied orthopaedic surgery and clinical genetics. My thesis for PhD was “Genetic causes of bone and cartilage diseases.’ This field of research that time was very new for a young medical graduate from Nepal.
It is my privilege to get opportunity to study in Japan. More than the subject, I learned discipline, working culture and self-pride from Japanese people. I found Japanese are patriotic from the heart and in practice.

Contribution in JUAAN: I am a life member and a regular attendee of JUAAN activities. I served JUAAN as an executive member in different capacities.

Presidency year in JUAAN: 2015 -17 (between Dinesh Bhuju and Manoj Giri)

• President JUAAN, 2011-2013.
• I represented JUAAN to SAFJUAA meeting in Sri Lanka.
• Established three hospitals out side Kathmandu through an NGO.
• Award / Appreciation from Japanese Ambassador for the individual contribution to develop Japan -Nepal friendship strong and firm.
• Kobe YWCA (Young Women Christian Association) recognition me as an extra ordinary activities done by Japan graduates in their own native country. Only six students from the world was selected an I was one of them.
• JUAAN daily official activities and programs were conducted regularly as per scheduled.
• Orientation and Japan study fair was conducted through JUAAN in our tenure.
• Participated in JUAAN first Medical conference and JUAAN conference on Environmental changes in Himalayan Hotel Pulchok.
• Imanishi Trust management and essay competition awards conducted smoothly.
• Chagunarayan World Heritage site renovation and inauguration was also successfully done in our executive period.
• JUSAN / JUAAN 100 years ceremony and Sakura plantation in Godawari, Dhulikhel, (Kathmandu University and Dhulikhel Hospital,) Japanese Embassy Pani pokhari and Ambassador’s resident Tahachal premises.

Many more other activities were done but recently they could not memorize at present.

My thesis for PhD was “Reservoir sedimentation of sand-gravel mixture in steep slope channel.’ This has been always my privilege to get the opportunity with a prestigious Japanese government Scholarship (Mon-bu-shyo).

Contribution in JUAAN: Beside the regular activities concluded as a life member, Executive member (2005-2007), and President (2007-2009), followings are specific achievements:

• successfully signed an agreement with JASSO for Education Fair (August 2008) with the full cooperation of Ms. Michiko Suzuki, the then Executive Director of Student Exchange Dept. of JASSO) and Prof. Dr. Yuriko SATO, TIT;
  fully cooperated in celebration of Golden Jubilee of Diplomatic Relation of Nepal-Japan as a coordinator for the seminar
